Singing is more than enjoyable — for people with Parkinson's it can be genuinely good for you. Group singing exercises the muscles used for breathing, voice and swallowing, which Parkinson's can affect, and it does so in a way that feels like joy rather than therapy. Just as importantly, Park & Sing is about connection. Parkinson's can be isolating; a choir is a regular, friendly reason to come together, share a laugh, and feel part of something. Carers and family members are warmly welcome to sing alongside their loved ones. Park & Sing Choir runs at Neuroscience Research Australia on Wednesdays in our gym. People with Parkinsons and their carers are all invited.
